Yesterday was a perfect day for hanging around the farm. So that's just what we did. We packed up and headed back home. Our first stop was at the Krenk farm where we dropped Jarod off. He wanted to spend the day cutting down trees, shooting his gun and other manly things.
We helped dad unpack and set up his headquarters and then we headed to the Kastl farm for some tractor rides. Andrew was in heaven! While Dave was doing some work on the tractor and planter, Andrew was right there beside him checking everything out. After a few hours in the sun, I thought it was time for Andrew to take a nap so we headed to Great Grandma Kastl's in David City. Andrew was not interested in sleeping at all! How could I expect my little boy to sleep when he could be riding in a tractor! So we got a snack, changed some diapers, and headed back. This time Grandma came along for the ride. Before we left town we stopped at the nursing home where Grandma Kathy was working for a surprise visit. She was so happy to see us and show her grandsons off to the residents.
Once we were back at the farm, Andrew hopped in the tractor with a big grin on his face. I remember last year when we took him planting he was scared of the tractor and clung to me as we climbed up into the cab. Not this year. He didn't even care if I was there or not. Maybe next year I'll send him with Grandpa for a whole day of planting.
Thanks Grandpa for a fun time!
