Superbowl Champs!
It's a great day to be a cheesehead! The Green Bay Packers are the Superbowl Champions! As Jarod said this morning, "It's gonna be a good week". We are still flying high from the excitement of the game last night. And what a great game it was! I get very nervous watching the games, in fact all day yesterday I was watching the pregame hype and my stomach was in knots. I kept pacing around the house, looking at the clock, counting down the hours to game time.
This is how Jarod dealt with his pregame jitters.

Decked out in head-to-toe Packer gear, he washed both our cars in almost freezing weather. If you look closely, you can see that it is snowing! I wonder what our neighbors think! For the past two weeks in preparation for this game, Jarod wore nothing but Green Bay Packer clothes. I kid you not! To work he wore his Packer Polo's and Packer tie, and around the house he'd throw on one of his many Packer t-shirts, shorts, pajama pants, and hats. He fits into my family so well! You see, being a Huppert is synonymous with being a Packer fan. I love that we bond over beer brats, sauerkraut, and Packer games. I love that my nephew George won't wear anything but his Packer jersey all year long. I love that Megan even took an interest in the game this year and celebrated the win, embracing her Packer roots! It made me so sad that we were not able to come home to watch the biggest game of the decade with them.
Even though we weren't home, we still had a great time! Although we couldn't cheer too loud, because every time we did, Andrew burst out in tears. We just couldn't help ourselves on some plays and had to deal with his meltdowns (only a few times)!

I am so proud of my Packers having to fight through all the injuries this year and coming out on top. But I am most impressed with Greg Jennings. Did you catch his post game interviews? After being asked how he's feeling having just won the Superbowl, the first thing out of his mouth was "To God be the glory"! It's so refreshing in a sport where we have to listen to T.O. cry about how awesome he is and Chad name himself Ochocinco because their egos are way too big. Thank you Mr. Jennings for that lesson. Thank you for reminding me to give God the glory in everything.

Best part of our day
I love love love when Andrew wakes up in the morning and from naps. He is usually very happy and greets me with a big smile. After taking him out of his crib, the very first thing we do is open the blinds. This has become Andrew's favorite thing. He gets such a big kick out of twirling the wand and letting the sun shine in! The few times when he wakes up grumpy, his crying turns immediatly to laughter as the blinds begin to open - guarenteed! It's never not worked! These are the little moments I never want to forget.
This is when he was six months old:

Brrrrr
This winter has been so cold. This morning when I woke up it was a whopping 3 degrees. Way to cold to be outside! Luckily we've been able to stay inside most days. I don't really have many reasons to leave the house; no kids to take to school or job to get to. And if I have to run errands I try to wait until Jarod is home for lunch so I don't have to take Andrew out. But I do enjoy bundling Andrew up because he's just too cute in his puffy coat!

Last month we took the little guy out after one of our record snowfalls and let him play in the snow for the first time. He didn't quite know what to make of it as he just sat there in the snowbank looking around. It was a little disappointing. I guess he's just a bit too young for snow angels and snowmen! Something to look forward to for next year!

The first one
I should have listened to my sister. I don't like to admit that, but I should have listened to her nine months ago when Andrew was born. She tried to get me to start a blog to record all of the little moments that happen as Andrew grows - moments that I would want to share and never forget. But blogging wasn't for me. Or so I thought. Until I realized how quickly time passes and how my baby is not a little baby anymore.
I want to hold on to every moment I have with him. Jarod and I are so blest to have Andrew in our lives.

So thank you Kristi. Thank you for encouraging me to start this. I am looking forward to recording all of the little moments that bless me everyday.

It's something we weren't sure would ever happen, after the doctor told us we wouldn't be able to conceive on our own, and after the birthmother who chose us to adopt her son decided she wanted to parent. God must have led us down that difficult path to prepare us for the wonderful blessing He had in store for us!

The past nine months have been amazing! I have learned so much about being a mother to this unique one-of-a-kind miracle. He has his father's strong will, his mother's stubbornness, and a smile that will melt your heart.
So thank you Kristi. Thank you for encouraging me to start this. I am looking forward to recording all of the little moments that bless me everyday.
