Dominic's 1st Haircut

I love Dominic's hair.  Especially after a bath when it is extra soft and wispy.  I didn't want to cut it despite people telling me to, but at 18 months old, it was time.  Once he turned a year and a half, something changed.  He was no longer my sweet little Dominic.  He has now entered the terrible twos phase complete with temper tantrums, asserting his independence, and an insane amount of energy.  The baby hair had to go...it just didn't fit his personality anymore. 

The day after the wedding, Aunt Sommer cut it while the newly weds were opening their gifts.  Dominic did great as long as he had his paci and could play with the water in the sink.

Congratulations Adam & Camille!

We had a great time helping Adam and Camille celebrate their wedding.  It was the most beautiful wedding with bright bold colors and intricate details.  Camille did a great job putting it all together.  Jarod and I were honored to stand up for them, although it did make taking care of the kids very difficult!  Thank goodness for my parents!  They came along and did lots of babysitting so we could enjoy the whole day.

 

Dominic has been so wild lately.  At nineteen months old, I think the terrible twos are just getting started.  The night before the wedding at the rehearsal dinner, Andrew and Dominic were running around chasing each other and sure enough, Dominic fell and hit his head on the corner of a cabinet.  His forehead swelled up right away and he had a big cut down the middle of his head and down the side of his nose and mouth.  Luckily, it wasn't too serious and the swelling went down. 

 

Grandma and Grandpa definitely got a workout running after the two boys all day.  They got them ready in the morning, brought them to the church for pictures, then took them back to the hotel and put them down for a nap during the wedding.  Then they brought them to the reception where they were constantly on the go.  Thank goodness Sylvia is such a good baby and didn't need any special attention. 

 

Andrew had a blast at the dance.  We all had a lot of fun dancing with him.  When they had had enough, Grandma & Grandpa took them back to the hotel and let stay us and enjoy the party.  I don't know what we would have done without them.  Thank you Mom and Dad!

3 Years Old

Is that the face of a happy boy, or what?

 

Andrew had a great 3rd birthday.  On the morning of his birthday he and dad went to mass, then to HyVee to pick out donuts.  He was so cute!  He had just gotten a haircut the night before, and every time he does he seems to grow up so much.  Who are you and how did you get to be so big?

 

We devoured the donuts (Dominic especially) and then surprised him with his new bike.  He was so happy.  It's a little too big for him but he's doing a great job pedaling.

 

After a little bit of riding through the snow, we packed up and headed to Hastings for Adam & Camille's wedding.  Andrew got to celebrate again at the gift opening the day after the wedding with a Clay Matthews football jersey cake.
